New Advancements in Isothermal Packaging Industry

  • In January 2023, Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), a subsidiary of Nippon Express Holdings, Inc. (Mitsuru Saito, President), has launched a new international air freight service utilizing environmentally friendly isothermal packaging made by EMBALL'ISO, making it the first Japanese logistics company to work with the French company with a track record of successfully transporting vaccines.
  • In April 2024, An industrial start-up called Bysco, with its headquarters in Nantes, France, wants to recycle and process 20 tons of byssus threads a year. Mollusks like mussels employ byssus threads, which are bundles of tiny threads, to cling to their environment. These threads, according to Bysco, are inherently fire-retardant and have the ability to absorb sound and retain heat. Bysco established a production plant in Brittany close to important mussel farming regions in order to process the byssus threads. The startup produced one ton of insulation material in 2023, but by 2024, it should have grown to five tons, and by 2026, it may have reached twenty tons. Before the summer, the company intends to raise €500,000 in funding to accomplish this ambitious growth.
