  • In November 2024, Viatris Inc.'s U.S. unit-dose packaging business has been acquired by Safecor Health, the industry leader in pharmaceutical unit-dose repackaging and supply chain solutions. Previously, the company was called Unit Dose Laboratories, or UDL. Adding the UDL team, the strong brand recognition, and their capabilities to the Safecor family will further the company’s ongoing aim of offering world-class packaging and supply chain solutions to the manufacturers and health systems the company serve. Mark Saxon, CEO of Safecor, added, with this addition, the company will immediately expand the number of unit-dose commercial products company offer, and Safecor company plan to increase the offering with expanded manufacturer, health system, and wholesaler relationships.

Injectable suspension of Sandoz paclitaxel protein-bound particles (albumin-bound) is recommended for the treatment of individuals with metastatic breast cancer. The FDA approved the lyophilized powder for injection on October 8, 2024, offering 100 mg of pacitaxel in a single-dose vial for intravenous usage.
