Electrostatic Discharge Packaging Key Players and their Developments
The electrostatic discharge packaging market size to rise from US$ 2.38 bn in 2025 to US$ 3.06 bn by 2030. Asia Pacific dominated the electrostatic discharge packaging market in 2023 while North America is expected to grow at a significant rate in the market during the forecast period.
New Advancements in Electrostatic Discharge Packaging Industry
- In July 2024, Daubert Cromwell, Inc., a company manufacturing Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) protection for metals uneviled the launch of the VCI/ESD poly film and bags. Manufacturers use VCI/ESD poly film and bags from Daubert Cromwell to package delicate electronics when they need to be shielded from corrosion and electrostatic discharge. Often used in the automotive, aerospace, and other fabricated metals industries, Premium Metal-Guard VCH/ESD is a corrosion inhibitor coating with static dissipative qualities that is safe and effective. Premium Metal-Guard VCI/ESQ is a flexible, strong, heat-sealable material that acts as a barrier against the damaging effects of humidity and moisture. The solderability is unaffected.
- On August 01, 2024, Cortec Corporation, company providing corrosion solutions for industries, revealed the introduction of the EcoSonic ESD Paper as a sustainable option to standard plastic electrostatic discharge bags.

Latest Announcement by the Key Leaders
- In June 2024, Smurfit Kappa Paper & Board Europe's COO (Chief Operating Officer), Javier Rivas, stated that the recent opening of the Nervión and Sangüesa investments are significant milestones for the Smurfit Kappa paper division and in line with the EU Green Deal's shift to climate neutrality through the expansion of clean energy technologies. With over (US$ 32.6715 million) €30 million invested in these two projects alone, Garrett Quinn, Chief Sustainability Officer at Smurfit Kappa, added that these two projects demonstrate the Group's continued investment to deliver on its sustainability goals, delivering reduced emissions of CO2 and increasing the circularity of the company’s production process.
- With the recent debut of two cutting-edge projects in Spain, Smurfit Kappa has shown that it is dedicated to meeting its environmental objectives. At the packaging giant's Sangüesa paper factory, more than 12,000 solar panels were displayed. These will complement its biomass and recovery boilers to produce more than 50% of its yearly energy needs, which is enough to power 3,600 households. The €6 million (US$ 6.5343 million) photovoltaic system, the biggest of its kind in the Navarra region, is expected to cut the mill's yearly CO2 emissions by more than 3,000 tonnes. The Sanqüesa paper mill has cut its CO2 emissions by over 51% since 2005.
- With the second €27 million (US$ 29.4044 million) investment, Smurfit Kappa will implement a fully circular production process in its Nervión paper mill, which will involve the largest landfill reduction project the company has ever undertaken. In addition to removing over 450,000 km of road transportation annually, the initiative is expected to reduce 75,000 tons of garbage from landfills.
