New Advancements in Transparent Barrier Packaging Films Industry
- In March 2024, India-based TOPPAN Speciality Films Private Limited (TSF) and TOPPAN Inc. (TOPPAN), a TOPPAN Group company and a fully owned subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings Inc., packaging company, created GL-SP, a barrier film that uses biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) as the substrate.
- In March 2024, During the CFIA tradeshow in Rennes, France, Jindal Films, a company focused on manufacturing films for packaging will debut the BICOR 25 and 30 MBH568 films. To assist the industry in implementing packaging that complies with the new, impending European mechanical recycling criteria, the new PP and PE monomaterials were developed. Clear barrier films called Bicor MBH568 are made to operate as single webs at high speeds on HFFS packing machines by combining a novel barrier coating technique with the VLTS seal technology from Jindal Films. Films with PVC coating can be replaced with MBH568 grades since they are surface printable and offer comparable WVTR, OTR, and aroma barrier.
